Diabetes Hair Loss Medications
differential Dx?
i am a med students that intervied this patient and i need help coming up with some differentials.
a 63y female afro/caribbean dessent presents with a headache on the left side of here head(temporal) that she has had for the past 25 years since her husband hit her there. she says that it feels like a sore and that there is a bump there. it hurts to brush her hair. there was no bleeding at the time of injury and she did not loose consousness. The patient also states that her left eye sometimes tears and hearing loss in left ear. she has a history of hypertension that is controlled by medication(she does not know the names). she has a family history of hypertension, diabetes asthma and cancer(does not know what kind).
some possiblities
neoplasm–if anyone could point me in the right direction of possible types of neoplasms
cyst
temporal arteritis–could this last for 25 years w/o any other serious comlications like going blind
First of all, You might want to learn how to spell half the stuff you are studying about. I am a nursing student and am very suprised on how many mistakes you made on this.
As for your description of the pt’s hx (History), rewrite it. . . . . Headache for 25 years??????????
Patient claims to have reoccurring headaches for the past 25 yrs, as an effect from. . . . .Pt. states “My husband hit me”

I agree with that guy though v. . . . . . . .doubt its caused by a neoplasm. I have scar tissue on my brain (Technically considered brain damage) from a surgery when I was young. . . . . . .thats where the scare tissue came from. I have had ongoing headaches for almost 9 years now because of this. I was also being abused by my bf at the time, where he would hit me in the head. . . . . Thats actually when the headaches started too. He may have actually done some pretty bad damage to her.
Suggestion. . . . . . Stop reading so much into it. . . . (Neoplasms)? Just focus on the objective data first.
