Hair Loss Rheumatoid Arthritis
Question about Arava hair loss?
I’m 17 years old, and i was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis last year. i’ve been on several different medications, all of which have given me awful side effects including erythema nodosum (i think that’s how its spelled- painful knots in my legs). i was put on arava one week ago(20 mg), and already my hair is starting to fall out. this worries me because my hair is important to me- its halfway down my back, and i take really good care of it.
does the hair-loss side effect of this medicine wear off?
are there any other medications that could be better for JRA that don’t have awful side effects?
Hair loss is an unwanted side effect of some arthritis drugs, such as methotrexate and Arava.
