Thyroidism and Hair Loss or Something Else?

I am taking thyroid medication for two years and feel no different.I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and am told that my thyroid is underactive now. My Tsh levels are where they should be according to my doctor. I have been losing my hair on my head over the last few years with no family genetic history of alopecia.I am wearing wigs now. I am 52 female and post menopausal for the past 5 years.. I have been having more facial hair. I am diabetic but diet controlled. I am asked now by G.P. to check my serum cortisol levels. and see a dermatologist. Anyone else have a similar problem , know how serious this could be or suggestion that might help?

This could be related to the thyroidism in that the dosage of the medication that you take may need to be readjusted (an example only).

I would recommend consulting with an endocrinologist (a doctor that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders that relate to hormones such as with the thyroid) if you haven’t already to see what they say.
