Question Details: i have a friend she is 23 years old she started to loose her hair in may she is almost half bald she has alopecia areata a hair loss disease she is really worried now she just found out she is pregnant and she is 2 months,she has been to the doctor and take her medications but now she is worried because she thinks her baby will have no hair or it will have the same disease as her please help!!! my friend wants some answers

To my understanding of the disease is they don’t know much about it. There is a website your friend can go to about it and they have support groups. Follow this link http://www.naaf.org It does seem to be hereditary but that doesn’t neccessarily mean her baby will get it. Though I know it’s hard but she should try not to stress over it because stress can make this disease worst and a support group may help her deal with the stress. I don’t envy her pregnancy can be a stressful time especially in her shoes. I hope this info is helpful to her and I wish her and her baby the best.
