Losing Hair Per Day
Hair fall……. please help i cant understand the reason………..?
NO dandruff, NO tangles, neither i dry my hair with towel very vigorously, nor i use hair dryer, i use a mild shampoo twice a week and gel sometimes, BUT then also, m losing around 70 hairs per day, i can’t understand the reason behind it, my age is 14 years. plzzzzzz help. & can i lose hair bcus of itching the head?
I am a hairdresser, and it is not uncommon to lose, or “shed” 50 to 100 hairs per day. Hair has a growth cycle, and eventually dies and falls out. It is constantly replenishing itself though. If what you are losing is suddenly more that what you used to, than maybe it is something different. If not, than you are probably fine. The longer your hair is also, the more it will look like you are losing. Some other reasons for increased hair lose, could be hormones, stress, diet, starting or stopping a medication, thyroid problems, illness, genetics. Scratching your head should not cause you to loose hair unless you were doing it really really hard, or possibly if you had sebhoriec dermatitis, in which case you would have a very itchy head, and lots of flaky or clumpy skin coming off when you scratched.
