How to prevent postpartum hair loss?

I’m 7 months pregnant – It will be my first child – a baby girl and I’m very happy, just want that everything will be ok and as smooth as possible:-)
I have a friend of mine that had a baby boy 4 months ago and she warned me about postpartum hair loss. I love my hair, I have long wavy hair and it scares me a bit to lose it. Is there anything that I can do to prevent it when my baby is born? I have noticed that my hair is much more frizzy and dry than usually and I guess that could be from pregnancy hormone levels.
Do you have any suggestion?

Many Thanks

You won’t loose more then you should have during pregnancy! Normally our hair sheds continually but in pregnancy all the hair shafts are dormant because of the the hormones of pregnancy, after delivery around 3-4 months your hair goes back into the active phase which means all those hairs that were dormant for a year go back to where they were supposed to be which means growing for some and shedding for others. In other words, you hair hasn’t been growing very long during pregnancy and you’re just going to shed the hairs that should have been shed.

You can’t stop it, just know it’s temporary and normal and your hair will come back.
