Vitamin Deficiency Hair Loss Thinning
New Vegetarian & Hair Loss?
I am 21, and I have been a vegetarian for about 2 months. However, recently I have noticed my hair thinning out, especially along the hairline. I have stopped wearing headbands because of this. Anyway, I’ve been tracking my diet on an online food diary site, and this is a pretty typical day for me:
Cal: 1824
Fat: 49.2 (23%)
Sat. fat: 12.1 (6%)
Carbs: 290.5 (60%)
Fiber: 39.3
Proteins: 81.5 (17%)
Ca++: 1459
Iron: 34
Vitamin A: 734
Vitamin C: 269
My carbohydrates are probably relatively high for some people, but I’m a runner…Anyway, I can’t seem to figure out what sort of deficiency I’m experiencing. I would greatly appreciate any advice!
I have heard that hair loss like this could be because you need more protein. Maybe try snacking on nuts or something and see if that helps up your protein percentage.
